Garcia Recognizes 2016 Teacher of the Year Captain Michelle Cherland - Indio

From deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq to teaching the ABCs, former U.S. Army reserve captain and current kindergarten teacher at Carrillo Ranch Elementary School in Indio--Michelle Cherland, was recognized on Friday, November 6, 2015 by Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia for being named the 2016 California Teacher of the Year! Congratulations Captain Cherland for being named California Teacher of the Year by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson.
