Holiday Toy Drive: Bringing Joy to those in Need
Thank you to all who attended my Holiday Open House and Toy Drive! It was a joy to connect with so many wonderful community leaders.
Each holiday season, I partner with cities and nonprofit organizations throughout the district to distribute toys to children who need them the most. Because of their outpouring support, my office received over 500 toys, which were distributed to the following cities and organizations in celebration of the holidays:
- The YMCA of Greater Whittier
- The Pico Rivera Chamber of Commerce
- The City of South El Monte
- The North Whittier Neighborhood Watch/Avocado Heights Association
One of the best parts of serving as your Assemblymember is seeing everyone come together to support one another. Let’s bring this spirit of giving into the new year and continue to be good neighbors to each other.
Recognizing Grant Award Recipients in the Community
I had the honor of recognizing four outstanding community organizations.
Congratulations to the incredible women leaders of the Pio Pico Woman’s Club, the Walnut Valley Women’s Club, and Diamond Bar Woman’s Club who were awarded grant funding from the Women in California Leadership Foundation (WiCL).
I would also like to congratulate the Friends of the Whittier Hills for receiving a grant from the Los Angeles County Legislative Delegation in recognition of their advocacy for open space preservation, the protection of native species, and public education on environmental issues.
These inspiring organizations have committed their time to serving the 56th District and we are grateful for all that they do!
Upcoming Events
Accurate data is one of the most powerful tools we have to ensure that state and county resources are allocated where they are needed most.
That's why I am committed to organizing volunteers for the Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count. This annual census of our unhoused neighbors plays a crucial role in directing resources and identifying additional services to support our communities.
I invite you to join me as a volunteer for this year’s count, taking place January 21-23. Everyone counts, no matter where they live.
