Sacramento, CA – In celebration of Women’s History Month, Assemblymember Lisa Calderon (D – Whittier) is honored to recognize Nancy Lopez-Kazarian as the 2025 California Legislative Women’s Caucus Woman of the Year for the 56th Assembly District, for her decades of leadership, service, and unwavering commitment to historic preservation and community advocacy.

Nancy Lopez- Kazarian has dedicated over 20 years to the nonprofit sector, championing community development, public service, and civic engagement. A steadfast leader, she has forged partnerships between government, corporations, and local communities to promote cultural preservation and historic revitalization in Los Angeles.
As a Director at Project Restore, a non-profit committed to preserving Los Angeles’ architectural and cultural heritage, Nancy has played a pivotal role in I safeguarding iconic landmarks such as Los Angeles City Hall, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House, and Residence A. Her efforts have ensured that these historic sites remain accessible and celebrated for generations to come.
Beyond her work in preservation, Nancy is a passionate advocate for civic pride and community engagement. Through her involvement with the nonprofit Friends of La Serna, she has led fundraising efforts that have secured vital resources for students, supporting their academic success and enrichment at La Serna High School.
Her impact in the nonprofit and preservation sectors continues to shape Los Angeles, ensuring that its history and communities remain a vital part of its future.
