Calling all aspiring photographers to capture the essence of the 56th Assembly District’s life and landscapes! We want to see the district through your lens. Submit your best photo for an opportunity to receive a certificate of recognition and have your photo displayed in our capitol or district office.
If you are interested in submitting your photos for this contest, please complete a form and submit it with your artwork. A winner will be selected from the following grade levels: Kindergarten - 5th Grade, 6th Grade - 8th Grade, and 9th Grade - 12th Grade.
Contest participants must live or go to school in the 56th Assembly District, which includes the cities of Diamond Bar, El Monte, Industry, La Habra Heights, La Puente, Pico Rivera, South El Monte, Walnut, Whittier, and the unincorporated communities of Avocado Heights, Hacienda Heights, Rowland Heights, West Whittier-Los Nietos, and East Whittier.
The deadline to submit photos is Tuesday, July 9. All photographs must be submitted in JPEG format. For more questions, please contact my office at 562-692-5858.

Submission Rules
- No print entries accepted.
- Preferred digital format is JPG or JPEG.
- Image Quality: Maximum file size is 10 MB, and it is not recommended the file size be no smaller than 3 MB. If unsure of image quality, set camera to the highest quality available.
- Photos cannot be altered in any way utilizing Photoshop or comparable programs, unless it is for image processing.
- Electronic file name must include participants first initial, last name, Grade Level, and AD56PhotoContest. EXAMPLE: JSmith12AD56PhotoContest.jpg
- The Office of Assemblymember Calderon reserves the right to reject any entry deemed not suitable for consideration due to objectionable content.
